Τελικά έφτασε το βιβλίο Assimil!... Μα... δεν είναι ένα βιβλίο, αλλά τα CD του βιβλίου που πρέπει να χρησιμοποιώ (και εγώ αγαπάω αυτή την λέξη!!). Ο Francesco μου έχει δώσει το ηλεκτρονικό βιβλίο και δεν θα το αγοράσω - είναι ακριβό!
I also borrowed a Classical Greek grammar and a Ancient-Modern dictionary from the library. I've decided to spend the coming four years learning Greek, both Modern and Classical, and become an amateur Hellenist at the age of 25. Greek is a serious subject now when I try to study Modern and Classical at the same time. A great way to do this would be to translate Classical texts into Modern Greek. I hope I can handle this. No hurry. Petit à petit, l'oiseau fait son nid! I will post my translation exercises on this blog.

I think you should master Modern Greek and then start with Ancient Greek, otherwise you could confuse one with another. That's my personal opinion, since usually meanings change from Ancient to Modern languages (there are plenty of examples for this in Latin and Spanish).
It often happens that I can't resist the charm of both so I just decided to study two at a time :P
Modern Greek is closer to Ancient Greek than Italian or Spanish to Latin.
